Wednesday afternoons are free at Queens Botanical Garden in Flushing — 39 acres of rose, herb, bee and woodland gardens descended from the 1939 World’s Fair, around the city’s first LEED Platinum building. Free hours may be suspended on special event days; the whole garden is free through the winter months.
