The short version

NYC Street Walkers shows you public events happening around New York City. We collect the minimum needed to do that, we never sell your data, and location never leaves your device except to sort events by distance.

Location

Location is strictly opt-in. When you allow it, your coordinates are used for a single query that sorts events by distance from you. Coordinates are not stored on our servers, are never placed in URLs, and are not shared with anyone. Deny or revoke permission at any time — the app works fully without it.

Accounts

If you create an account we store your email address, your saved events, and — only if you set them — a home borough, interest categories, and notification preferences. Push alerts require both a Premium plan and an explicit opt-in, and are silenced overnight.

Payments

Subscriptions are processed by Stripe (web) or Apple via RevenueCat (iOS). We never see or store card numbers — only your subscription status.

What we don't do

No selling or renting personal data, no third-party advertising trackers, no profiling across other sites, no background location tracking.

Data sources & attribution

Event facts come from public sources — NYC Open Data (Street Activity Permits), NYC Parks, and venue calendars such as Bryant Park — with attribution and links back to the original listing. Weather comes from the National Weather Service. Map tiles © OpenStreetMap contributors via OpenFreeMap.

Deleting your data

Delete your account from the Account page (or email us) and your profile, favorites, and subscription record are removed. Contact: via the repository or the address in the App Store listing.
